16th April: World Voice Day

12/04/2024

World Voice Day was established on April 16th 1999, with the main goals of increasing public awareness of the importance of the voice and drawing attention to voice problems.

Our voice is essential in our everyday lives. Everyone communicates in a unique way and our voice allows that expression to be heard. World Voice Day is a chance to recognise the wide array of fields connected to the human voice. Ranging from biology to physics, by of way music and poetry, the fields impact each other. We celebrate our voices as something all cultures have in common, no matter our language.

As interpreters, we understand that the voice is also one of our working tools and it is essential to take care of it with good practices. If you want to celebrate this day by discovering more on the topics of health, you will find what you’re looking for on the Speech Repository.
