Human Rights Day 2020

09/12/2020

Today is a cause for celebration, but also for remembrance and activism. The basic rights our society enjoys as a whole nowadays are a product of many years of struggles, defeats and victories. From women’s rights to ethnical rights, humankind has had to fight long and hard against all forms of hate.

Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on 10 December. On that very day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a ground-breaking document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
