Luxembourg National Day

Today we celebrate Luxembourg National Day!

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is one of the founding members of the European Union and hosts several EU institutions and agencies. With an area of nearly 2600 square kilometres, it is the second-smallest country of the Union, but the richest in terms of GDP per capita.

Apart from its material prosperity however, Luxembourg also has an incredible linguistic wealth! Indeed, three languages have an official status in the country: French, German and Lëtzebuergesch (Luxembourgish).
