Brussels Economic Forum (4 May)

04/05/2023

On 4 May, high-level speakers from across the world will visit Brussels to participate in the Brussels Economic Forum (BEF), the flagship annual economic event of the European Commission. For the last 20 years, policy makers, academics, civil society representatives, and business leaders have gathered annually in order to identify key challenges and priorities for the European economy, such as the recovery of the economy after the Covid pandemic or envisioning the future of Europe’s economy in an era of digital disruption. In this year’s edition, they will delve into how to build a new competitive model for Europe in a context of global tensions and scarce resources.

Among the wide range of topics that will be discussed, speakers will reflect on the impact of climate change on the economy; how to protect workers, consumers and future generations in times of uncertainty; the advantages and disadvantages of a cashless society; and how to adapt EU industry, trade and policies to a changing world order.

The BEF is the perfect opportunity to put questions to experts, to network with other participants and, in particular, to expand your knowledge of economics within the EU.
